The picture to the left is just a small portion of the play room within Preschool, the image showcases our small world area, with dolls house, parking garage, castle, musical area, and shelves with baskets upon baskets of toys from cars, trains, dinosaurs, sea creatures and even dragons.
In Ducks we pride ourselves on providing the best possible environment for children not only to learn but to thrive, to expand their imaginations and understanding. Though we do Adult Led activities the goal is for the children to create and lead their own play and activities, to take the activities we give them and expand upon them, turning them into something entirely different based on their wants, needs and likes and dislikes at that exact moment in time.
Our home corner is attached directly to the playroom through a large open archway, giving the children free access between both areas of play. It is inside a sun room giving the children perfect views of all different weather types from blinding sunlight and warmth to howling storms they can witness safely whilst kept warm inside.
This side of the room contains our little play kitchen and dress up shelves. The kitchen is fully stocked with play equipment from utensils and plates to toy food, kettles, toasters, and a shopping trolley. The little table and bench allows the children to create wonderful picnics, family meals and wondrous tea parties.
We have a wonderful library room, which has a light table and torches. The children love to play with the torches and it teaches them about light and is a great science experiment when you incorporate shadows. The library also has comfy cushions for the children to sit or lay on, each cushion is a different animal or flower; the children love sitting on these after a busy morning playing and running around the garden. The children can use this room at any time to sit and look at books or just have some quiet time.

At the entrance to the garden we have a messy play area/small world area. The tuff tray usually features small world builds for the children to explore and play around with. To the left of the room we have two paint easels attached to the wall with large shelves between them with numerous art supplies from brushes and sponges to glitter paint and powdered snow.
This is our table top room, we have six tables which can fit twenty-four children. All meals are eaten in this room unless we decide the weather is nice enough to move the tables into the garden for an outdoor eating experience! Every morning our Ducks start off their day in this room, giving them an easy routine to follow. They hang their coats and bags on their pegs, wash their hands and come into the dining room to play. Tables are set up the night before with activities and various resources from play-dough and colouring to mark making and jigsaws.
We have two child size toilets, one is fully enclosed for our independent users and the other which staff can easily access to better assist children who are still training and of course the potty's.
Then there is the nappy change area for our youngest clients with an extra thick, anti-roll, padded mat for comfort.
Fully equipped for our youngest clients with their own dedicated milk kitchen and sleeping area, their very own nappy changing area with thick anti-roll mat for extra comfort and safety. The room also comes with plenty of sensory toys for the little ones to play with, exploring their various senses.

Our Sleep Room includes two enclosed cots, two cot beds and a number of camping cot beds that can be placed around the room depending on how many sleepers we have at any given moment.
An area to relax in, or let your imagination loose with our happy land, train track or integrative vetch garage. We also have a home corner situated within the room so they can put the dolls to sleep and to make their friends drinks and food, maybe even a tea party or two. The older ones love to make dinner for the dolls and sit them down to feed them.
Paint, felt tips, junk modelling and snipping are just some of the exciting things your little one will get to enjoy. All arranged at their height so no needing to ask, they can just dive right in. Their very own nappy change area with extra large mat and lots of inviting potties to choose from. This room also doubles up as the dining room for all their meals, the tables are thoroughly sprayed and cleaned with food safe disinfectant before and after meals; this is also done before and after any table top activity takes place.
