Absolutely. We will try to accommodate any extra days you may need as long as we have the space available.
The more notice you give us the more likely we are to be able to accommodate your needs but can occasionally accommodate last minute or on the day requests.
We are happy to accept children with cold as long as they are happy and active.
If your child is upset and/or just wants to sit and have hugs then they are best at home.
If your child has vomited or had diarrhoea in the last 48 hours. Please keep them home.
If your child has had a temperature that has hit 39 degrees or higher in the last 24 hours then please keep them home. Children that reach this temperature whilst at Ducklings will be sent home.
Calpol = Yes, You must inform staff when dropping your child off, when, why and how much calpol you have given and as long as the child is and remains happy and active then we are happy for them to stay.
Ducklings holds permission from all parents to give calpol to their child if they get a temperature of 37.5 or higher. This is the only time Ducklings will give any medicines without a prescription.
Medications prescribed by a doctor = Yes, it must be prescribed by a doctor to the child, in its original bottle and packaging, with the pharmacist label attached and readable.
Antibiotics = Yes, the child must have been on the antibiotic for 24 hours or had this type of antibiotic before.
Epipen or inhaler = Yes, we request that children requiring this type of medication get a spare one that remains at Ducklings. You will need to complete a medication form so that staff know what symptoms to look out for.
Yes, you will need to supply us with a suitable bag to send the used nappies home in. No carrier bags please.
Yes, it must come in pre-portioned bottles, and must be handed to staff on arrival so it can be put straight into the fridge.
You are more then welcome to come in and have a look round when collecting your child as we are always putting the children's work up an the wall.
The staff are always available to talk about how your child is doing and what they are up to.
There is also the EYlog system which you will be able to login to and see all the photos, videos and observations of you child.
We do not have set Parents Evenings. With the EYlog system you will get regular updates on your child's progress throughout the year.
If you would like to talk to us about your child progress you can at any time request one from your child's key worker or with Sarah, whoever you feel more comfortable with or most likely to be able to help.
